ENSURING BASIC CARE
One of the main tasks of Shanti Leprahilfe is to provide medical care for lepers and to offer a useful role in human society as well as shelter for those marked by the disease. Although leprosy is easily treated with medicine, the illness remains a big problem and – at least in Nepal – is far from being eradicated.
Furthermore, patients from Kathmandu and the entire country can be treated in the outpatient department of the Hape Kerkeling clinic. The pharmacy keeps stores of the most important medicines.
The critically ill are lovingly cared for in hospice until their death.
